Boland College was established in its current incarnation in 1998 and is situated in the Cape Metropole in the Western Cape. Its main and oldest campus, founded in 1918, is located in Stellenbosch. The college has four other campuses: Caledon, Paarl, Strand and Worchester.
Boland College was formed as the result of the merger of four independent education and training Institutions following the amalgamation of 152 South African technical colleges into 52 mega colleges. The institution is now one of six Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) facilities in the Western Cape.
The extensive programmes offered at the institution span nine faculties, namely civil engineering and building construction; economic management sciences; electrical engineering; engineering and related design; hospitality, tourism and sport; information technology and agriculture; office management sciences; safety and security; and social sciences.
The qualifications are based on a mix of theoretical understanding and practical experience.
One of Boland College’s primary attractions is the Work Integrated Learning programme, which offers students the opportunity to become involved in internships as part of their qualification.
The college’s main campus is located at 85 Bird Street, Stellenbosch.
