Established in 2004 and spanning across the North-West and Gauteng provinces, the North-West University is a tri-campus institution.
The university, a product of a merger between the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education and the University of the North-West, offers courses in the faculties of agriculture, science and technology, commerce and administration, education, human and social sciences, law, arts, natural sciences, economic and management science, engineering, health sciences, humanities and information technology.

The institution’s three campuses each boast their own speciality. The Mafikeng Campus presents an unrivalled approach to agricultural sciences; the Potchefstroom Campus is equipped with unique nuclear engineering strengths; and the Vaal Triangle Campus concentrates on economic sciences and information technologies.
Another feature gaining the university popularity is their focus on community engagement in an attempt to make a positive contribution to the North-West Province through developmental activities and community service.
North-West University’s main campus can be found in Sethlogelo Drive, Mahikeng, 2790.
