The University of Limpopo formed in 2005 following the merger of the Medical University of Southern Africa and the University of the North.
The university is situated between Polokwane and the Magoebas Kloof and boasts two main campuses – Turfloop and Ga-Rankuwa.
The University of Limpopo’s main campus is situated at Mankweng-E, Polokwane.
The institution’s four main campuses include Health Sciences, Humanities, Sciences and Agriculture, and Management and Law.
One of the University of Limpopo’s primary attractions is the Limpopo Agro-Food Technology Station (LATS), which launched in 2008 as an initiative to improve Agro processing services in the province.
Based on Turfloop Campus and using cutting edge technology, the station aims to ensure that food processing information is made available to the public, particularly those living in rural areas of Limpopo.
The University of Limpopo also boasts a state of the art Science Centre which allows students to experience practical participation in scientific experimentation and technology. The centre is open to students, teachers and the general public.
