Jacob Hlalele and Sipho Sibiya made sure of the honours with a goal each after UJ’s Sbongeleni Gamede had opened the scoring in the seventh minute.
TUT had a chance to equalise a few minutes later but the shot was cleared off the line by UJ midfielder Samuel Warder.
The TUT Stadium turned to scenes of jubilation when Hlalele notched the equaliser after meeting a perfect cross on the right flank to bring the match alive.
The scored was deadlocked at 1-1 at half time.
TUT showed their attacking intent in the second half and midfielder Godfrey Mohlale was a constant threat.
A brilliant Sibiya header proved to be the knockout blow for UJ as the TUT man rose above the defence to slot a superb goal.
